When I started this blog in 2004 I was a single 20-something librarian in living in Leeds. Now I'm a happily married (look under Blogging Husband to meet him - we met through our blogs) 30-something librarian living in Edinburgh.

I enjoy knitting and cooking and am trying to get into sewing - it's just not as portable as knitting and can't really be done in front of the TV. I love going up to the north of Scotland to Orkney (where I was born and lived until I was 9, then moved to Yorkshire) and to Skye.

Here are a few random things:

1) My degrees are in psychology and information and library studies.
2) I am an atheist.
3) I love house magazines like Country Living.
4) I want to live by the sea.
5) When people slam the main door in our tenement it really annoys me.
6) I'd love to go to Scandinavia, we were going to go for our honeymoon but it all got too expensive - we went to Cornwall instead.
7) I'm interested in politics but due to my job can't discuss that here - and of course any opinions shared here are strictly my own and not necessarily reflective of my employers. Who I am sure have strong views on cakes.
8) I love reading.
9) I have a large and complicated family.
10) I like playing Mario Kart.
