Here's a Vertebrae cardigan that I started late in December and recently finished (I am also working on a Robe of Glory, thanks to Nancy The List Writer). It doesn't have much of a front so when the baby is in a sling or snuggled on your chest they don't get all hot and bothered. I used the rest of the mystery yarn that I made the leaf hat from, I was convinced that I wouldn't have enough left and scrimped on a few rows here and there. Of course there was plenty left though!
I've also started washing Bagl's clothes. We don't have a chest of drawers for him yet so I'm using a big Habitat fabric storage bag thingy as a makeshift one for now. The other day it felt very spring-like so I got the newborn sized stuff washed and out on the balcony (the pegs are in case of blowing away, I don't use them indoors on the clothes horse!). Don't they look sweet? Most of the babygros were from the Boots and Asda sale and everything else was from eBay. I much prefer brightly coloured clothes than the pastelly baby blue stuff that all the shops seem to think boys should wear. The next day I did a batch of navy and white stripey stuff from one of my favourite (but expensive, thank you sales and eBay) shops, Polarn O. Pyret and that included a teeny pair of socks, awww. We've tried not to buy too much stuff as often people give clothes as presents, but I can't resist organic babygro bargains on eBay and stripey stuff in sales.

Awww, it's not long now is it! I'm totally with you on the brightly coloured stuff - I LOATHE pale pink and pale blue for girls and boys respectively. I was in Mamas and Papaps (ouch, the price!) today just having a wee look and some of the girls clothes were absolutely great, not a vomit-inducing pastel pink to be seen at all. The boys' stuff was lovely too - lots of navy and white for both girls and boys, which looks so nice and fresh.
Love the green cardigan you knitted ... all your stuff is from such beautifully coloured wool!

My Mum is in the middle of knitting a Robe of Glory blanket for her goddaughter's baby, and last week I saw the one she knitted for my sister 29 years ago, wrapped around my sister's newborn daughter! It is a very lovely pattern, and oozes 'heirloom' :o) I can't wait to see the one you're making for Bagl. N x

Hmm, not looked at Mamas and Papas, keep reading they do good offers on maternity stuff but never in my size online. Will check it out though.

I've just started knitting the back so it feels like it could be a while, have lots of films ordered this week so hopefully will make some progress! That's so lovely that your sister has her own one for her baby.

Belated Congratulations!
I hadn't visited in ...longer than I realised - so delighted to see your next chapters unfolding.
I hope you'll keep feeling better.
Oooh a Baby Dragon is on the way!! Bright clothes, definitely!
All Good Wishes to you and Jon and Bagl. xxxj
