Chazzer’s Challenge (diet update)

Phew, after a couple of fairly static weeks I have now descended to the right side of 70kg, hitting the scales at 69.4kg. This gives me a BMI of 25, at the outer limit of what is healthy for my height and build. After this week I am not going to pay for the diet anymore and will use recipes from previous weeks plus those from a great book I got out of the library (and subsequently bought), Cranks Light. There are some really yummy sounding recipes in there.

This loss must be down to loads of walking I've done this week as I have been very slack on the eating front, well you are with visitors aren't you?

Catch up, round up, whatever…

Diet going very slowly at the moment, at least I'm losing weight, even if it is a tiny amount.

Scotland's got bird flu. I've had to do some research about bird flu at work and as I don't actually live with any infected birds who can wander and shit freely around my home I'm not worried.

The latest fad amongst the crazy kids is filming each other having sex on their mobile phones. Nice.

Mr Nagl has two new little friends - my brothers. He and R (aged 9) did a lot of techspeak about computers and surround sound and D (aged 10) was impressed by the DVD collection. They called in en route to Inversneckie, and then Torridon tomorrow, hope the weather improves.

My mum and Hugh arrive on Sunday evening and I'm not going back to work until a week on Tuesday. Woo-hoo!

Chazzer’s Challenge (diet update)

Put on a teensy bit of weight this week. Woops. Never mind, two pairs of trousers are now too big and another aren't too far behind.

This week I did have more than my allotted amount of alcohol plus we were treated to lots of yummy food at Croila's (more on that later).

Chazzer’s Challenge - diet update

Woo-hoo, lost some more weight this week, now down to 70.6kg, so not far off the right side of 70! For those of you working imperial, according to my slip from the Boots scales, I now weigh 11 stone 1lb.

Chazzer’s challenge - diet update

Not so good this week, just half a kilogram.  Bored of diet food and fancy a massive slab of rich chocolate cake and a thick hot chocolate.  And chips, but not at the same time.

Losing nearly 6 kilograms in four weeks is pretty good though.

Chazzer’s Challenge (diet update)

Woo-hoo! If you stuff your face at the weekend in honour of your boyfriend's birthday it's a good idea to feel ill and lose your appetite at the end of the week so you do in fact lose some weight.

Note: this is actually a very unhealthy attitude, do not do this!

I am now down to 72kg, so I've lost 5kg in three weeks. I've gone from having a body mass index of 28 to one of 26. A healthy range for my height is 20-25.

Just sorting out my meal plan for this week, far too much beetroot for my liking.

Chazzer’s Challenge (diet update)

That time of the week, this time I didn't lose an awful lot of weight (200g?) but as I had added on a couple of kg last week when entering it onto my diet website record it still looked like I had lost a bit. They still must have known though (conspiracy!) as my calorie allowance has gone down a bit to 1400 a day. Blergh. I am using the next notch on my belt so that's something.

I'm not expecting to make great progress this week as I'm having a very little break for the next day or so to celebrate Mr Nagl's birthday (tomorrow). We had a lovely lunch at A Room in the West End today, it would have been lovelier if the woman at the table next to us hadn't had LOTS OF OPINIONS that she decided to TALK ABOUT VERY LIKELY. We noticed there were little alcoves for two people only at the back so next time we'd try and book them. I had baked potato omelette with roasted vegetable salad and olive tapenade. My first thought at omelette is not a great one, but this was delicious, more of an eggy cake with potato layers in it. The tapenade was gorgeous. We each had banoffee pie afterwards, although I left my massive wodge of cream topping in an attempt to be good.

Tomorrow I'm going to make a classic chocolate cake from Nigella Lawson's Feast, but Croila and Kal will pop in on Sunday to help make sure I don't scoff it all.

Chazzer’s Challenge (diet update)

First of all, thank you for all your comments and suggestions about dieting, I really appreciate it.

Ok, so last Tuesday I was weighed at the doctors and was nearly 77kg. I decided to start my diet on the Sunday so pigged out Wednesday to Saturday.

Today I went to weigh myself at Boots. Obviously it's hard to guage accuracy when using two different sets of scales but I will be using the Boots ones from now on. Friends have confirmed that the Boots scales are less than ones they've used, so I'll get a better idea next week.

Anyway, today's weigh-in read 73.6kg! There's no way I've lost that much (about the size of a newborn baby) but even allowing for being different from the scales at the doctors I've lost some weight. Woo-hoo!
