More money than sense

Stupid Wedding Crap, a very funny blog I saw mentioned at BlogHer.

On the same subject (and I'm so glad the photo is on their homepage) I saw an awful advert for a wedding dress shop in Stockbridge the other day.  Because the sight of a cowboy nearly showing his pubes would convince me to spend money there.  I don't understand these media creatives sometimes...

And play on the Wii!  Jon has been selling a load of comics on eBay and used the proceeds to buy his much-wanted Wii.  So much wanted, that he walked along to my office to pick it up as we have most stuff delivered there, since it's somewhere that you can generally rely on finding me.  Not today though, still on holiday (back tomorrow) but one of my partners in crime called to let me know that he had arrived and off Jon skipped (possibly not) to get it.

So far I've played tennis and golf and had a go at bowling and baseball.  I've never really been into the idea of gaming, although I suppose every time I've tried it I've got into it (I remember playing my cousins Helen and Emma's NES when I was a teenager and having a lot of fun).  The great thing about the Wii is that is much more physical than other consoles, you have to stand up and move around the room, ideal exercise for those of us still recovering from school PE traumas.  I've created a Mii, oohed and aahed at the design (very Orisinal) and enjoyed watching Jon get carried away. 

Actually I must go, I want to play the knitted cow game on it.  We've got two remotes, do call round and have a go!

Knitting fingers twitching

Amber is mean, because when you read this post in Bloglines you don't get the 'continue reading' line. Although I did twig before I went to the site to leave a message of congratulations. Reading stuff after 12noon means you miss out on the whole April Fool effect. And I am blonde.

My cousin Helen isn't mean though, so I do have another baby to be knitting for. Check back tomorrow for the latest baby knitting project for my friend Liz - 'non-descript animal bootees'.

Well, it was Christmas Eve in the workhouse, and the snow was falling fast...

Actually it's quite mild down here in Ilkley, went into town to photocopy some knitting patterns and get some wine and bread (I'm setting up my own church, nah, not really, fondue stuff). Someone was blasting out Christmas songs in the carpark and tacky as it sounds, it worked quite well as people bought last minute trees, holly and chocolate.

Feels a bit strange down here this year, on one hand it's lovely to be home and surrounded by my family and our own traditions, but on the other, I can't wait to go back up to Edinburgh on Wednesday to be with Mr Nagl again. We'll have to come up with a better system next year, goodness knows what, with four sets of parents and six siblings between us, maybe we'll just hide.
