So, we did the peace fair yesterday and it was a lot of fun. It also did my back a lot of good just to sit and not do much (apart from take all the money!). We sold out of spurtles and several people bought bowls, which are not always big sellers as they cost more than your average person wants to spend at a craft fair. We each had some yummy cake from the Leeds Vegetarian Society stall, and spoke to lots of interesting people, particularly womyn in recycled jumpers. I broke out into materialist heaven, Salts Mill (well, it has art and culture there too) and bought a couple of Christmas presents and fantasised about owning most of the books and designer homeware. I also took some photos of the village on my phone, they're not brilliant but I wanted to show you what a lovely village it is. If I had got that job the other week I had decided that I was going to try and move to Saltaire as it is just 20 short minutes on the clean train to Leeds. Plus, being in Bradford, you get more for your rent money. It wasn't to be, but nevermind, I still enjoy visiting.
This is one of the houses overlooking the railway line.
This is the mill which now houses David Hockney work and various lovely shops.
As you look down the main street you can see Shipley Glen - see this place just gets better! Handy for the city AND the countryside. There is a small tram that goes up and down the glen.
